The RNLI Helped Save His Life So now Bob is doing a Charity Wing Walk on 26th July to support them 10 years on. It’s the ultimate social distancing event !! Bob is personally paying the cost of the flight so all donations will go to the Cleethorpes RNLI The RNLI save many lives every year so —PLEASE HELP these fantastic local heroes
BOB’S AMAZING STORY: On Aug 22nd 2010 under the watchful eye of Peter Winchester, a veteran of 70 cross Humber swims, Bob Wraith a family man and Humberston Lions club member set out on a gruelling 11 mile swim to raise money for the RNLI. After getting into difficulties he eventually reached Cleethorpes beach where he collapsed, the RNLI were called out as well as the Coastguard and Paramedics. He was rushed to Grimsby A&E and then in to Intensive Care where he was put into an induced coma. At one stage he was given only a 4% chance of survival and the probability of brain damage, but, after endless CPR and defibrillation, 6 days later he came round. Without the life saving actions of many individuals Bob would not be alive today and , thankfully, he has no long term problems.
